Evaluation for Digital Animation, Stop Motion and Poster, DVD/CD cover

My final piece was the stop motion it influenced me to do this as my final product because it was very skillful, the skills I liked was making the models and filming it with the stop motion app. My strengths was making the forest and models and my weaknesses was making the model stand up. I did make a plan for the narrative, and it was to make the lost princess run away from the evil witch who was trying to steal her beauty and youth  to become young/ beautiful again but later on Ghost face and the Lost Princess fight and then the evil witch dies by splashing hot tar on her It was easy follow it.They both fall in love and they live happily ever after. It was very useful. I did make a plan and it was like Kubo and the two strings which is a action film. I created it by using a cardboard box for the set and I used coloured paper to make the leaves I also used black coloured paper to create the path. The tools I used was a scalpel to cut out the box for the set and I used scissors to cut out the leaves, Supper glue to make sure the models was in place this stopped them from falling apart. The techniques used was plastic trees and I made a path for the characters I used black cardboard paper to do this, this added perspective. The program I used was the Stop motion app. I researched a forest background for the set. My research was successful. It did influence my final product because it was very successful. There was problems for my model to stand up properly. I think we achieved a lot of perspective on our set with the trees and the collage effect on the background. The models were about the right size and matched quite well, I really liked the witch which we made to fly by using nylon fishing line which doesn't reflect or absorb light as much as string so she looked good flying about in the background. I used an iPhone to capture the images and set it up on a homemade stand to keep the shots steady. We experimented with lighting and used a sort of overhead back-light to make sure the set was the right brightness. we played with some gels but decided just normal lamp light was best.

I also made my own poster for my final product this helped to tell the audience what the stop motion is going to be about and what age group it is this will determine if it is suitable for young children or teens/adults. I liked making the poster because this helped us decide whether it is a horror film or PG, G it also helped us plan the stop motion movie. My strengths was making up the story of the film and making it look real also my weaknesses was making sure that we had 24 frames for the models. We added sound effects, horses hoofs and the kiss and some cackling for the witches dialogue. I think everything went well but it can be improved by making sure my model was standing up properly for my DVD cover I used Adobe In Design for my final piece this was good but it can be improved by adding more colour and I used a storyboard to help me plan. The stop motion research influenced me by making an action film like Kubo and the two strings.
